The Sickle Cell Livelihood Fund

This is a fund that support Sickle Cell Livelihoods program. The social challenges this fund address include: 1.Economic empowerment, 2. Food security and 3. Educational attainment

We will address the above in the following ways:

Food Security

  • Nutritional assessment and education
  • Therapeutic food for malnourished patients
  • Conditional Cash transfers for vulnerable households
  • CHW accompaniment and support

Economic empowerment

  • Small business microgrants for existing businesses
  • Microgrant to community sickle cell groups (CSGs)

Educational attainment

  • Educational scholarships for technical and vocational training courses
  • Partial education grants for tertiary education
GET INVOLVED

Eligibility

  1. From Kilifi and Taita-Taveta counties
  2. An adult living with SCD
  3. A caregiver to children with SCD
  4. Registered in a Kenyan institution (for educational grants)
  5. Have a registered business (for business micro-grants)
  6. Is a registered CSG of max 15ppl (for group loans and micro-grants)
